Daylit Consulting Visual Identity
A bright, business ready identity for a new communications firm in Alexandria
Campaign Ad Design
Process
Daylit came to me as a new business in Alexandria that wanted to stand out right away. I knew it needed to feel professional enough for government and public sector work, but still warm and human so people would actually reach out. That is where my brand identity design for communications firms approach comes in. I ran a focused creative brief, built mood boards around light and clarity, and kept the sun motif very clean. From there I designed a wordmark with an icon, a light brand guide, lined icons they can use in many places, and business cards that match the system. Because the direction and brief was tight, the client was able to pick a logo on the first round and revisions were minimal.

Results
The brand launched looking like it belonged in the City of Alexandria communications space, not like a hobby business. The sun motif gave it personality, but the type and layout choices kept it business-ready. Because the logo was picked in the first round, the project moved fast, and the client could start using it on cards, digital headers, and early marketing. This is the value of brand identity design for communications firm.

Lessons Learned
When the brief is clear, the first round can win. A simple mark with a smart icon travels further than a complicated logo. And for communications and PR teams, especially those serving government, the sweet spot is warm but not casual, bright but not trendy, and consistent across every touchpoint.
